Bradford Era — The sale of the Mount Jewett borough water facilities took another leap forward as the borough council met in a special session on Monday to rescind an old resolution.

The move paves the way for the borough to complete the $1.1 million sale of the water system to Bryn Mawr-based Aqua America Inc.

According to borough solicitor Dan Hartle, Aqua’s title agent found an issue with the previous resolution. Resolution number 0113 dated July 1, 2013, stated that the sale of the borough’s water system needed to be approved by Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State.  Read More
