Mount Jewett — The Mount Jewett Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #6347 Commander Pat Eaton recently presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Mount Jewett Girl Scout Troop #26264.

The funds will purchase starter kits for the girls, which consist of Girl Scout books, a vest or sash for wearing earned badges and starter patches with the American flag, troop number and branch of Girl Scouts. Each starter kit costs an average of $62, which parents are typically responsible to buy.

The Girl Scout Troop will now be able to cover the entire cost of all the needed kits with the VFW’s donation.
