Bradford Era — With this year’s tick season predicted to be worse than ever, an informative, yet engaging Tick Fest with presentations on the topic will be held from noon to 5 p.m. May 19 at the Kinzua Bridge Visitors Center in Mount Jewett.
The free event, sponsored by the McKean County Historical Association and Old Jail Museum in Smethport, will include a presentation on ticks by the Dare 2B Tick Aware state-sponsored organization.
Lu Vandermark, curator of the Old Jail Museum, said the event will include live music, a basket raffle, the sale of dessert items such as tick cookies and tick-on-a-stick pretzel snacks as well as T-shirts. A free-will offering will also be taken and all proceeds will benefit the historical association. Read More
