Bradford Era — Construction work on the Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitor Center and Park Office near Mount Jewett has picked up steam over the past few weeks due to good summer weather, state officials said on Monday.
The current pace keeps a completion date of later this year as a feasible target.
Officials said over the past few week, contractors have completed the following on the project: Poured slab on the grade; performed interior framing on the maintenance building; backfilled; exterior piers established; and shingles have been placed on the maintenance building.
Looking ahead, crews will continue or begin work on roughing in electric in the new buildings; perform duct work installation in the new buildings; install garage doors; finish installing trusses and begin sheathing; install a sprinkler system on the lower level; installed a transformer; framed the upper floor; and had delivered and installed a 40,000 gallon fire suppression tank.
