Bradford Era — The MJ2KB T(rails) Club reported they have not heard much progress in the purchase of the former Knox-Kane rail corridor by Headwaters Charitable Trust of Curwensville, but with crews from Kovalchick Salvage Co. of Indiana pulling up rails and inching closer to Mount Jewett, time is running out.
The club is making attempts to save the rails on the 3.9-mile section of the former Knox-Kane rail corridor lying in between Mount Jewett and Kinzua Bridge State Park while having a trail adjacent to the rails. Headwaters Charitable Trust of Curwensville is in the process of purchasing the entire 73.8-mile corridor from Kovalchick. Headwaters’ Executive Director Janie French maintains the rails must go.
