Trail Club Has Offer to Purchase Section of Former Knox-Kane Rail Corridor

Bradford Era — After months of planning, meetings with county commissioners, and even a demonstration of a handcar at the Mount Jewett Swedish Festival over the summer, the MJ2KB T(rail) Club finally has an offer from Kovalchick Salvage Co. of Indiana to purchase the 3.9-mile section of the former Knox–Kane rail corridor which lies between Mount Jewett and Kinzua Bridge State Park.

But the price tag is steep, and time is of the essence.

On Tuesday, corridor owner Joe Kovalchick extended an offer to the club to purchase both the corridor and the rails for $430,000, but the money has to be in his hands by Thursday, before the new year.  Read More
