Bradford Era — The Pennsylvania Department of Aging has awarded two area senior centers — in Mount Jewett and Ulysses — with grants to improve their programs, services and facilities.

The joint funding announcement was made by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, R-Brockway, and state Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint.

The lawmakers said the Mount Jewett Senior Center in McKean County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $20,590, which will be used to purchase fitness equipment, tables and a new television. Read more
